There are two types of pepper, black pepper and white pepper.
Although the two types of pepper have very striking differences in appearance, black
pepper and white pepper come from the same plant, the scientific name is Piper
nigrum, or people called, black pepper. In their country of origin, namely tropical
countries such as Indonesia and countries in Southeast Asia, they are cultivated for
their fruit, and are better known as pepper. The fruit is then dried before processing,
into granules, or powder. Pepper is one of the most valuable spices from various traded
spices. This is because pepper plays a role in the culinary world as well as in the world
of herbal medicine.
