Hydroponic Greenhouse Production Resources. Hydroponics is a production method where the plants are grown in a nutrient solution rather than in soil. The greenhouse and its environment control system are the same whether plants are grown conventionally or with hydroponics.
Leafy greens such as lettuce, arugula, kale, mustard and spinach are among the most popular locally grown vegetables today. These can be produced locally year-round in controlled environment greenhouses in hydroponics with Shreefabco Greenhouses turnkey solution to meet your crop requirements.
Shreefabco Greenhouses supply the nutrient film technique (NFT) and are one of the few greenhouse companies in the industry that supply this type of hydroponic growing system for leafy greens.
n NFT, seedlings are transplanted into shallow channels where a thin film of nutrient solution is continuously circulated. The channels are sloped away from a center aisle and drained at the ends back to the water reservoir.
Unlike traditional growing methods, there is no solid rooting medium with NFT. A root mat develops partly in the shallow stream of the re-calculating solution and partly above it. Since the stream is very shallow, the upper surface of the root mat develops above the re-calculating solution. The film nutrient solution is created around the roots which are in the moist air.

Aeroponics is the process of growing plants in an air or mist environment without the use of soil or an aggregate medium. The word "aeroponic" is derived from the Greek meanings of aer (, "air") and ponos (, "labour").
The basic principle of aeroponic growing is to grow plants suspended in a closed or semi-closed environment by spraying the plant's dangling roots and lower stem with an atomized or sprayed, nutrient-rich water solution. The leaves and crown, often called the canopy, extend above. The roots of the plant are separated by the plant support structure. Often, closed-cell foam is compressed around the lower stem and inserted into an opening in the aeroponic chamber, which decreases labor and expense; for larger plants, trellising is used to suspend the weight of vegetation and fruit.
Ideally, the environment is kept free from pests and disease so that the plants may grow healthier and more quickly than plants grown in a medium. However, since most aeroponic environments are not perfectly closed off to the outside, pests and disease may still cause a threat. Controlled environments advance plant development, health, growth, flowering and fruiting for any given plant species and cultivars.
Due to the sensitivity of root systems, aeroponics is often combined with conventional hydroponics, which is used as an emergency "crop saver" backup nutrition and water supply if the aeroponic apparatus fails.
