In its mineral form Bauxite, Aluminium is the most abundant metal in the earth's crust. Bauxite contains one of a variety of hydrated aluminium oxides (gibbsite, boehmite or diaspore), which are often expressed as Al2O3xH2O but are more commonly regarded as impure Al2O3. Bauxite is claylike and earthy, and ranges in colour from white to deep brown or red according to the nature and quantity of its components. The major impurities in Bauxite are iron oxides (goethite & hematite), silicon dioxide, the clay mineral kaolinite as well as small amounts of anatase (TiO2). Consequently, its composition varies considerably with alumina constituting from about 50% to about 70%. Aluminium content can be accurately and precisely determined over a broad analytical range simultaneously along with Si, Fe, Mn, Ti, Zr and up to 20+ other elements.

Bauxite ore is the world's main source of aluminum.Bauxite is a rock formed from a reddish clay material called laterite soil and is most commonly found in tropical or subtropical regions. Bauxite is primarily comprised of aluminum oxide compounds (alumina), silica, iron oxides and titanium dioxide. Whether for the refractory industry or metallurgy we offer raw bauxite in various qualities and preparations.Aluminium ore bauxite can be found in a variety of applications. As calcined bauxite, this raw material is a central raw material in the refractory industry thanks to its highly refractory properties. This versatile mineral is also in demand in steel production as slag conditioner, in the production of refractory aluminium oxide cement, in road construction, in mineral wool production and as welding powder.
Bauxite is the ore form of aluminium metal. Our bauxite is used in many industries ranging from cement to household products. We pride ourselves in being the suppliers of quality bauxite ore for this wide range of applications.

Bauxite is an aluminium ore and is the main source of aluminium. This form of rock consists mostly of the minerals gibbsite Al(OH)3, boehmite ?-AlO(OH), and diaspore a-AlO(OH), in a mixture with the two iron oxides goethite and haematite, the clay mineral kaolinite, and small amounts ofanatase TiO2. Bauxite was named after the village Les Baux in southern France, where it was first recognized as containing aluminium and named by the French geologist Pierre Berthier in 1821.
Bauxite Formation
Lateritic bauxites (silicate bauxites) are distinguished from karst bauxite ores (carbonate bauxites). The early discovered carbonate bauxites occur predominantly in Europe and Jamaica above carbonate rocks (limestone and dolomite), where they were formed by lateritic weathering and residual accumulation of intercalated clays or by clay dissolution residues of the limestone.
The lateritic bauxites are found mostly in the countries of the tropics. They were formed by lateritization of various silicate rocks such as granite, gneiss, basalt, syenite, and shale. In comparison with the iron-rich laterites, the formation of bauxites depends even more on intense weathering conditions in a location with very good drainage. This enables the dissolution of the kaolinite and the precipitation of the gibbsite. Zones with highest aluminium content are frequently located below a ferruginous surface layer. The aluminium hydroxide in the lateritic bauxite deposits is almost exclusively gibbsite.
Bauxite, rock largely composed of a mixture of hydrous aluminium oxides. Bauxite is the principal ore of aluminium. bauxite. Related Topics: ore laterite gibbsite boehmite diaspore. Gibbsite (alumina trihydrate), boehmite, and diaspore (alumina monohydrates) are the main ore minerals. Bauxite is a high-aluminum-content rock.
