The disc stack separator is also called disc separator. It is a device that rapidly separates solid and liquid through high-speed centrifugal force. The alias is also called disc centrifuge or conical plate centrifuge, which belongs to a type of vertical centrifuge. The disc separator is driven by a motor and rotates at high speed. In the bowl of the disc separator, there is a set of disc-shaped parts nested with each other-commonly known as discs. There is a small gap among the discs, which are used for centrifugal sedimentation of materials. The suspension (or emulsion) to be processed enters the bowl of the disc separator through the feed pipe. When the suspension (or emulsion) flows through the gap between the discs, the solid particles (or droplets) settle on the disc under the action of the centrifuge to form a sediment (or liquid layer). The sludge slides along the surface of the disc to separate from the disc and accumulates in the inner bowl where the diameter is large, and the separated liquid is discharged from the bowl through the liquid outlet. For the 3-phase disc separator, there are two centripetal pumps inside, which can discharge the two immiscible liquid phases having difference densities. The role of the discs in the disc separator is to shorten the settling distance of solid particles (or droplets) and expand the effective settling area of the bowl so as to greatly improve the production capacity of the disc separator. The solids accumulated in the bowl can be discharged through the automatic slag discharge mechanism without stopping the machine. By using the disc separator, solid-liquid-liquid 3-phase separation or solid-liquid separation is realized.

Degumming
The degumming process aims to remove the gum impurities in crude palm oil to make it suitable for further refinery processes. Water or acid is added to remove phospholipids and gums.

Neutralizationg
Alkali solution (typically sodium hydroxide) is added to neutralize free fatty acids. Deacidification is a process that has a
great impact on palm oil quality. If there is a problem with the neutralization process, the following decoloration will be
greatly affected. The free fatty acid in crude palm oil can affect the stability and relish of palm oil. We can add some lye to
neutralize the free fatty acid, this process is also called alkali refining.

Bleaching
The palm oil bleaching process is to remove oil pigment, residual soap, and metal ions. All the pigments can be removed by the adsorbents method. The bleaching process can improve the oil color, relish, and increase the oxidation stability, thus providing a good condition for the deodorization process.

Deodorization
Steam distillation removes volatile components that cause odors. The palm oil deodorization section plays an important role in improving palm oil quality. The refined palm oil is nearly colorless and transparent in the liquid state and white in the solid state.

This separator is a highspeed separator, with strong separating capacity, as an intermittently operated centrifugal equipment, composed of the main body, driving unit, bowl, liquid collector tray, and feed liquid bearing seat. The upper part of the bowl is the flexibility spindle and the lower part is the floating damper bearing. The spindle is coupled by coupling seat buffer and the driven wheel. The motor passes the dynamic force to the driven wheel through driving strap and tension pulley, thus for the bowl to rotate around its own axis at high speed, to form a strong centrifugal force field. The material is injected inside from the liquid inlet on the bottom. The centrifugal force compels the material liquid to flow upwards along the inner wall of bowl, and to be separated due to densities of different ingredients of material liquid. Olive Oil Separation Stainless Steel Decanter Centrifuge is used for solid-liquid-liquid separation, namely one kind of solid phase (with largest specific gravity ) and two kind of immiscible liquid phase with different density. The conveyor rotates in the same direction as the bowl, but at a different speed, the material is fed into the bowl through a stationary feed pipe. Centrifugal forces cause instant sedimentation of the solids on the wall of the bowl, while two liquid phases forming light liquid phase layer and heavy liquid phase layer. Scroll conveys the solids towards the conical end of the bow, and out of centrifuge from solid discharge port. The light liquid phase then is discharged out continuously through the overflow port at the large end of the bowl, and the heavy liquid phase will be discharged out through the centrifugal pump large end of the bowl, thus realizing the three-phase separation.

When you need to separate solid / liquid mixtures with high solids content, you can choose a decanter centrifuge. In contrast to chamber filter presses, these solid vortex centrifuges or decanter centrifuges operate continuously. High centrifugal forces separate finely divided solid particles from the suspension.
