Urea, known as carbamide, is an organic compound composed of carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, and hydrogen. One of the simplest organic compounds is the main nitrogen-containing end product of protein metabolism in mammals and certain fish species. It is also the nitrogen fertilizer with the highest nitrogen content.

Applications
1.Medical field
Dermatology uses certain agents containing urea to increase the humidity of the skin. Non-surgical removal of nails uses occlusive dressings that contain 40% urea.
2.Agriculture
Urea is a highly concentrated nitrogen fertilizer, which is a neutral fast-acting fertilizer, and can also be used to produce a variety of compound fertilizers. No harmful substances remain in the soil, and there are no adverse effects after long-term application. Animal husbandry can be used as feed for ruminants. However, if the temperature is too high in granulation, a small amount of biuret will be produced, also known as biuret, which has an inhibitory effect on crops. China stipulates that the content of urea biuret for fertilizer should be less than 0.5%. When the content of biuret is more than 1%, it can not be used as seed fertilizer, seedling fertilizer and foliar fertilizer, and the urea content in other application periods should not be too much or too concentrated.
3.Industrial sector
It can be used in large quantities as a raw material for the production of melamine, urea-formaldehyde resin, hydrazine hydrate, tetracycline, caffeine, reduced brown BR, phthalocyanine blue B, phthalocyanine blue Bx, monosodium glutamate and other products.
4.Laboratory applications
Urea is very effective at denaturing proteins, especially non-covalently bonded proteins. This feature can improve the solubility of certain proteins at concentrations of up to 10 mol/volume. Urea can also be used to make urea nitrate.

Description by Manufacturer
Urea, a white crystalline solid containing 46% nitrogen, is widely used in the agricultural industry as an animal feed additive and fertilizer Here we discuss it only as a nitrogen fertilizer. Urea (46-0-0) usually has the lowest cost per pound of nitrogen compared to other single-element nitrogen fertilizers.
However, urea undergoes unique chemical transformations when field applied and severe losses in efficiency may result if special management practices are not followed. The purpose of this fact sheet is to briefly describe urea transformations and to suggest how urea-N may be conserved with proper management in the field.
Fertilizer urea can be purchased as prills or as a granulated material. In the past, it was usually produced by dropping liquid urea from a prilling tower while drying the product. The prills formed a smaller and softer substance than other materials commonly used in fertilizer blends. Today, though, considerable urea is manufactured as granules. Granules are larger, harder, and more resistant to moisture. As a result, granulated urea has become a more suitable material for fertilizer blends.

Industrial Urea - AdBlue
Urea is a raw material used in the manufacture of many chemicals, such as various plastics, urea-formaldehyde resins and adhesives. It is also essential for making feedstock, glue, fertilizer, commercial products, and in resin production.
Urea formaldehyde adhesive powder is a type of adhesive that is commonly used in the woodworking and furniture industries for bonding wood and wood-based materials. It is a powdered resin that is typically mixed with water to form a glue-like substance for bonding purposes. Here are some key points about urea formaldehyde adhesive powder:
Composition: Urea formaldehyde adhesive powder is composed of urea formaldehyde resin, which is synthesized by the reaction of urea and formaldehyde. This reaction produces a thermosetting resin that is commonly used as an adhesive.
Powder Form: The adhesive is manufactured in a powdered form for ease of handling and storage. The powder is then mixed with water to form a workable adhesive solution.
Application: Urea formaldehyde adhesive powder is widely used in the bonding of wood and wood-based products, such as particleboard, plywood, and medium-density fiberboard (MDF).
It is suitable for applications where a strong and durable bond is required.
Curing Process: Urea formaldehyde adhesives are thermosetting, meaning that they undergo a curing process when exposed to heat and pressure. This process results in a cross-linked structure, providing a strong and durable bond.
Features: Urea formaldehyde adhesives offer good bonding strength, water resistance, and heat resistance.
They are cost-effective and have been widely used in the woodworking industry for many years.
