The Epson DX5 water-based print head is used by different series of Epson and Mutoh printers as decsribed in the printer compatibility. It is a new generation print head that allows fast speed, high resolution printing with water-based inks. The Epson DX5 original print head is delivered in a sealed Epson package. This is the original Mutoh print head.

This solvent resistant Epson printhead is suitable for solvent based Chinese DX7 printers. This printhead has 8 channels and 180 nozzles per channel. It has a 3,5 picoliter drop size with Variable-Sized Droplet technology. This is the original Epson Printhead. This printhead is the new DX7 head model released by Epson early 2014. It is locked and is not compatible with old printhead control boards installed on printers before the end of 2013. A chip decoder can be purchased separately for such printers.
