Direct Vision Spectroscope In Wooden Box

A simple device for the rapid qualitative examination of the composition of emission and absorption spectra. It has the principal components â?? collimator, prism, and telescope, all arranged along the same straight tube. Comprises a plated brass pipe with adjustable slit at one end for adjusting the inside amount of light entering inside, and a drawtube at the other end having eyepiece. The drawtube can be slid along its length for sharp focusing of the spectrum and is fitted with a multi-element prism causing appreciable dispersion of light without the device.

SATINATED GLASS

The acid etching or satina process is the removal of silisyum particles from the surface of glass using acid. In this way microscopic cavities occur on the glass surface and due to the refraction occurring in different directions our eyes perceive the glass to be white.

It's greatest advantage against sanded glass is that it does not allow fingerprints and that it's cleaning is much easier. It has a much finer surface compared to sanded glass.
