Gum Arabic is a dried exudation obtained from stems and branches of the Acacia Senegal tree or Acacia Seyal trees, which can only be found in the Gum Arabic belt that includes Sudan, Chad, Senegal and Nigeria. Sudan is one of the major exporters of the commodity producing over 70%. Gum Arabic has wide-spread uses in the food and beverages, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, textiles and painting industries.
