These products are compound deoxidizer and desulfurizer, which can better meet the deoxidation and desulfurization operations of molten steel. It has low melting point, good deoxidation effect, promotes desulfurization, removes impurities, purifies molten steel, and improves steel properties.
Ferrosilicon is often used as a deoxidizer in steelmaking because silicon combines easily with oxygen to form silicon dioxide. Furthermore, the formation of silica releases a large amount of heat, which also helps to raise the temperature of the steel.
Ferrosilicon is an alloy of iron and silicon (average content is 15% to 90%). It is a key ferroalloy used for deoxidation and alloying of steel. Silicon increases the hardness, tensile strength, elasticity and flow limits of steel, improves oxidation resistance and reduces energy losses.

In ferro alloy production: Used as reducing agent
