AAC Conductors are made out of Hard drawn EC Grade (min 61% IACS) Aluminium wires stranded in successive layers in opposite direction to form the Aluminium stranded AAC Conductor up to 61 wires.
All Aluminium Conductors are manufactured from electrolytically refined aluminium. They have a high level of purity; the minimum accepted level of aluminium is 99.7%. This product is also known as aluminium stranded conductor, as it is constructed of one or more strands of aluminium wire depending on the intended usage. As a consequence of this high level of purity, AAC Conductors are mainly used in areas where spacing is short and supports are close.


ACSR conductor consists of a solid or stranded steel core surrounded by strands of aluminium. ACSR conductor is available in a range of steel strengths varying from 6% up to 40%. The higher strength ACSR conductors are used for river crossings, overhead earth wires, and installations involving extra long spans. Against any given resistance of conductor, ACSR conductor may be manufactured to have different tensile strengths as per requirement. The principal advantage of these conductors are their high tensile strength and light weight, covering longer spans with less supports. Due to the greater diameter of an ACSR conductor much higher corona limit can be obtained, giving a big advantage on high and extra high voltage overhead lines.

Construction
ACAR has aluminium 1350 H-19 wires concentrically stranded around a 6201-T81 aluminium
Alloy core. Typically, the 6201-T81 is the conductor core, but in certain designs, the 1350 H-19 And the 6201-T81 wires may be stranded in the same layer.


AACSR Bare Conductor is a concentrically stranded conductor composed of one or more layers of 6201 -T81 aluminum alloy wire stranded over a high-strength zinc coated steel core. The core may be single wire or stranded depending on the requirement customer.

The proportions of aluminum alloy and steel can be varied to obtain the relation between currentcarrying capacity and mechanical strength best suited to each application.

Core wire for AACSR is available with Class A, B or C galvanizing; "aluminized" aluminium coated (AZ): or aluminium clad (AW).

Operating Characteristc

1)The long-term working tempeture of cable should be not higher than 70 degree.

2)When core is in short-circuit (Max. 5s), the tempeture should not exceed 100 degree.

3)While installation the ambient tempeture should not be lower than o degree, and bending radius should not be less than 10 times of outer diameter.
