The Bag House/Bag Filter is generic name of Air Pollution Control Equipment. It is designed around the use of engineered fabric, filter tubes, envelopes or cartridges in capturing dust, separating dust or filtration process. The dust laden gas enters through inlet nozzle and spreads all over the entire cross section of the bag filter. The gas moves up & passes through the bags, enters the clean air plenum through the top open end of the bags. During the passage of the gases through the fabric, the dust is retained on the outside surface of the bags. As the filtration proceeds the thickness of the dust layer on the fabric surface increases resulting in increase in pressure drop across the fabric. This necessitates the cleaning of the bags. Since the air flow is from outside to inside, the bags tend to collapse and are held by the wire cages, whose shape they acquire. The compressed air passing through the solenoid valves injects air at very high velocity for a short duration. This produces a shock wave causing the bag to expand and dislodging the dust cake which falls into the hopper. This unit is generally meant to operate with a pressure differential of 100-125 mmWG.

A gate valve is generally used to completely shut off fluid flow or, in the fully open position, provide full flow in a pipeline. Thus it is used either in the fully closed or fully open positions. A gate valve consists of a valve body, seat and disc, a spindle, gland, and a wheel for operating the valve. A gate valve can be defined as a type of valve that used a gate or wedge type disk and the disk moves perpendicular to flow to start or stop the fluid flow in piping. A gate valve is the most common type of valve that used in any process plant.
It is a linear motion valve used to start or stop fluid flow. Therefore, there is little pressure drop or flow restriction through the valve. Gate valves are used in many industrial applications including the oil and gas industry, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, automotive, and marine. Gate valves are not suitable for throttling purposes.
A globe valve is a linear motion valve used to stop, start, and regulate the fluid flow. The globe valve disk can be removed entirely from the flow path, or it can completely close the flow path. During the opening and closing of the valve, the disc moves perpendicularly to the seat. Leakage from the globe valve seat is less as compared to the gate valve, mainly due to right angle contact between the disc and seat ring, which allows tighter seal between seats the disk.
Globe valves consist of a movable disk-type element and a stationary ring seat in a generally spherical body. The valve stem moves a globe plug relative to the valve seat. The globe plug can be at any position between fully opened and fully closed to control flow through the valve. The globe and seat construction gives the valve good flow regulation characteristics. Turbulent flow past the seat and plug, when the valve is open, results in a relatively high pressure drop, limited flow capacity, and low recovery.
