Rice bran is the most important rice by-product. It is an ingredient of great value in feed formulation, because it contains 15 -
18% protein, 14 - 18% oil, and 30 - 40% digestible carbohydrates. Non-defatted bran works as a binder in
low inclusion levels, while defatted rice bran can be used at higher inclusion levels.
Rice husk bran is a high-fiber byproduct derived from the milling of rice grains. It consists of a mixture of rice bran and ground rice husks, making it a valuable feed ingredient for livestock and poultry. It is commonly used as a source of fiber, energy, and essential nutrients in animal feed formulations.
Key Features:
* Rich in Fiber: Aids in digestion and gut health for animals.
* Energy Source: Contains carbohydrates and residual rice oil for energy.
* Cost-Effective: Affordable alternative to other feed ingredients.
* Sustainable & Natural: An eco-friendly byproduct of rice milling.
Applications in Animal Feed:
* Cattle & Dairy Feed: Enhances digestion and rumen activity.
* Poultry Feed: Used in limited quantities to supplement fiber intake.
* Swine Feed: Helps in maintaining gut health.
* Fish & Aquaculture Feed: Can be used as a feed binder or fiber source.
Usage Guidelines:
* Best used as a partial ingredient in feed formulations.
* Requires proper mixing with protein-rich feeds for balanced nutrition.
* Recommended inclusion rates vary by species and diet formulation.
