Blackening fluid
Highly Alkaline (with a pH of 14) solution, used for blackening of steel components (a protective coating during storage and handling). Used at a bath temperature of 130¦-150¦ C. Articles remain in the bath for about 10-30 minutes. Blackening Fluid reduces spitting to a great extent.
