Kolanut was originated from West Africa and this region alone produce the highest percentage (over 70%) of the worldâ??s Cola Nitida and acuminate. Nigeria is one of the leading producer and trader of the crop in the region. The nut has diversified nature and benefits. The kola nut is whole, dried and raw. The organically and conventionally produced nut is a high-quality Grade A kola nut with a long shelf life. It can be stored for 3 - 5 years under suitable conditions. The nut has an endless number of uses and is used as a raw material in different industries. Garcinia kola (bitter kola)
The Garcinia kola commonly known as the Bitter Kola is a species of flowering plant in the Clusiaceae or Guttiferae family. It has a light outer shell and comes out a yellowish-white nut when the outer shell is peeled off. The product is of Grade A quality and is 100% natural, organic and dried. The cultivation type is organic and non-GMO. The key characteristics of the bitter kola produced by eximius are dry brown shell with yellowish-white nuts and a bitter taste. The product is suited for further processing. The biggest strength of the product is that it is sourced from Nigeria which is one of the top producers of bitter kola in the world. The product is processed and packaged under strict quality standards in line with global best practices. It has a durability of at least twelve (12) months from yield. Shea butter fatty acid profiles
Shea butter is composed of five principal fatty acids: palmitic, stearic, oleic, linoleic, and arachidic (see Table below). About 85 to 90% of the fatty acid composition is stearic and oleic acids. The relative proportion of these two fatty acids affects shea butter consistency. The stearic acid gives it a solid consistency, while the oleic acid influences how soft or hard the shea butter is, depending on ambient temperature.
The proportions of stearic and oleic acids in the shea kernels and butter differ across the distribution range of the species. Ugandan shea butter has consistently high oleic acid content, and is liquid at warm ambient temperatures. It fractionizes into liquid and solid phases, and is the source of liquid shea oil. The fatty acid proportion of West African shea butter is much more variable than Ugandan shea butter, with an oleic content of 37 to 55%. Variability can be high even locally, and a tree that produces hard butter can grow with one that produces soft butter.
Nuts are gathered from a wide area for local production, so shea butter consistency is determined by the average fatty acid profile of the population. Within West Africa, shea butter from the Mossi Plateau region of Burkina Faso has a higher average stearic acid content, and so is usually harder than shea butter from other West African regions.[6]
