Having the fragrance of roses, phenyl ethyl alcohol (pea) is widely used as a base fragrance (particularly rose and jasmine, lily) in soaps, candles, detergents, colognes and deodorizers. It's used as an biocide (antimicrobial, antiseptic, or disinfectant) and as a preservative in pharmaceuticals and perfumery.
