Application :
Phenol is a white crystalline solid with characteristic odour that is volatile. In industry, phenol is used as a starting material to make plastics. Phenol is used primarily in the production phenolic resins and in the manufacture of nylon and other synthetic fibres. It is also used in slimicides as a disinfectant and antiseptic, and in medicinal preparations such as mouthwash and sore throat lozenges.
