Cotton is divided into three types according to the length of its staple:
a) Short staple cotton: It is the one whose staple length is less than an inch, and it is usually coarse in texture with little flexibility.
b) Medium staple cotton: The staple length ranges between an inch.
c) Long staple cotton: It is the one whose staple length is more than an inch.
