Phenol is an organic compound with C6H5OH. It is a colorless needle -shaped crystal with a special smell. It is toxic and is an important raw material for producing certain resins, sterilization agents, preservatives, and drugs (such as aspirin). It can also be used for the treatment of sterilized surgical equipment and excrement, skin sterilization, itching and otitis media. The melting point is 43 �° C, which is slightly soluble at water at normal temperature, and is easily soluble in organic solvents.
When the temperature is higher than 65 �° C, it can solve the water in any proportion. The phenol is corrosive. After contact, the local protein degenerates. The solution can be washed with alcohol with alcohol. A small part of the phenol is exposed to the air by oxidation into pink.
