Slack wax is the by-product of the base oil refinery process which is a mixture of oil and wax. Slack wax is fed into the system as raw material which is finally processed into different grades of paraffin wax after performing the refining processes, de-oiling and bleaching.
Paraffin, in general obtained as a side product from refinement of crude oil, after it is purified with special techniques and its oil ratio, freezing point, color and smell is improved, becomes ready for use. Paraffin, generally between 45°C and 72°C freezing point and with 1% and 35% oil rate in various features and crystal structures are being produced by Mercan Kimya and presented for the use of our customers.
Paraffin is a material that is widely used, primarily being in candle sector, in wood, paper, construction, agriculture, coating, physical therapy, medicine and cosmetic sectors. Since paraffin, due to its own chemical structure, is water repellent and has inert qualification, it is often used as water repellent agent in applications where water is not wanted or creates negative effects. Also, since paraffin behaves like an insulation material since its thermal conductivity is low as per its structure, it is often used in coating physical therapy, cosmetics and medical fields.
Petroleum jelly, in general having a slippery and softening effect, taking into consideration the usage sector and climate conditions, has penetration of 100 â?? 160 mm/5 sc. intervals regarding penetration, freezing point of between 50 â?? 60°C.
Produced by Mercan Kimya, petroleum jelly is being used frequently and safely in health, therapy, medicine, mechanical sectors with cosmetics sector being in the first place.
Emulsions in anionic, nonionic and cationic features according to their ionic characteristics with active ingredient component being from 20% to 60% in suitable characters for various sectors are being produced by Mercan Kimya with high technology.
