Marine wet exhaust hoses are particularly effective because they mix seawater with exhaust gases. The seawater is injected into the exhaust stream to cool the exhaust gases, thereby significantly reducing the temperature of the exhaust gases before they leave the vessel.

Marine Wet Exhaust Systems
Water is injected into the exhaust system to cool the gas, which then passes through the outlets. Water-cooled exhaust does not cause fires and does not require insulation.
