Attapulgite is advantageously used for the purification of petroleum distillates such as kerosene due to their special characteristics. Fine grade of our fibrous Attapugite products are able to eliminate water traces, suspended impurities, resinous or asphaltic substances, residues of metals (arsenic, lead, vanadium and others), nitrogen compounds, oxygenated compounds, some sulphur compounds and even adsorb preferentially some hydrocarbons (olefins).
Attapulgite is finely controlled particles size distribution with maximum adsorbent capacity. Finely powdered attagel is used as thickner and rheological modifier in many applications such as paint and coatings.
