Description:
Rubber expansion joints, also called rubber compensators, are flexible connectors made of natural and/or synthetic elastomers and fabrics. If necessary, internal metal reinforcement materials can be used. These materials are designed to relieve thermal movement and piping system stress caused by mechanical vibration.

Rubber Joints are flexible connectors made of natural and/or synthetic elastomers and fabrics, with internal metal reinforcements where necessary, used to relieve stress in piping systems caused by thermal movement and mechanical vibration.

There are many materials to choose from, depending on the application area of the Rubber Joints. Rubber Joints also have their own advantages and disadvantages compared to metal expansion joints. Rubber Joints can absorb large movements over a short distance. They provide all directions of movement, such as axial, angular, lateral and torsional movements that may occur due to external conditions. Wind, shock loads and seismic movements can also be reduced.


Advantages
For corrosive applications and installations requiring a high cycle life, ball joints offer clear advantages over metal expansion joints. The profile prevents deposit buildup and produces less turbulence and pressure drop than stub joints. The sealing bead eliminates any requirement for a gasket between the mating flanges. Ball joints can be installed on raised or flat face flanges.
