Silicone is the first choice of material when casting 3 dimentional shapes that contain undercuts as it exhibits excellent release properties, a high level of surface detail, very good chemical and high temperature resistance.

It comes in a two-component system (base + catalyst) available in a hardness range of very soft to medium. It is available for making moulds that are poured, brushed or sprayed

Operation tips of rtv liquid moulding silicone rubber
a. adding too much silicone oil will destroy the molecular of silicone rubber, which will cause a decrease of the tensile and tear strength of the mold and deformation may occur.
b. remember to take the proper silicone rubber to make the mold for suitable products. for products with delicate and complicated patterns, you are expected to use soft silicone to make molds. While for products with easy and smooth patterns, you should choose hard silicone rubber.

Platinum cure silicone rubber is a kind of translucent liquid , generally named two-components silicone rubber with mixing in 1:1 .Its mainly suitable for tire molds making .

Operation instruction of platinum cure silicone rubber for tire mold
Step one: take 100g of part a and 100g of part b and mix in 1:1 and mix the two part evenly.

Step two: vacuum pumping
Without exception, this step takes less than 10 minutes.
Note: the time for vacuum-pumping should be less than 35 minutes , otherwise, once the silicone rubber has cross-link reaction during vacuum pumping process, it will not be operated.

Step three: pouring the mixture into the frame with original mold slowly .

The platinum cure silicone rubber can be applied to the mold making industries that used the fiberglass, gypsum, resin, candle, soap, etc. as raw material; or the food mold making industries, tire casting, rapid prototyping and artificial stone crafts. It gets the acknowledgment of the FDA, and its mixing ration is 10:1 or 1:1, which made the operation more easy. Besides that, it also has a lower shrinkage than the mould making silicone. 2.Put the product which is covered with a layer of release agent in the middle of a squre frame formed of 4 wooden or plastic plates.
3.Pour the mixture into the frame.
4.After 3 to 5 hours, when the silicone cured, get out the original mold, then you get a finished platinum cured silicone mold.
