These mechanical splices join bars with matching tapered threads, making rebar splicing a breeze. With the ability to join any bar-to-bar connection of the same size, where one bar can be rotated, taper rebar couplers simplify rebar splicing in areas where rebar congestion prevents the use of long lap splices.
Standard taper thread couplers are designed to splice the same diameter bars where one bar can be rotated and the bar is not restricted in its axail direction. It is designed to achieve failure loads in excess of 115% of the charateristic strength of grade 500 rebar end.
Working principle:
1. Slice up the end of the rebar.
2. Make the rebar taper thread cut by taper thread machine.
3. Connect together two taper thread end by one piece of taper thread coupler.
The taper thread coupler is a threaded coupler with an internal taper thread that can be connected to the taper thread of rebar. It offers
advantages such as easy joint connection, easy alignment, good self-locking properties, and fast connection speed. The joint can be
tightened with a wrench by 4-5 turns to meet the torque requirements. Its installation efficiency is 2-3 times higher than that of parallel-thread
coupler.
Transition taper thread couplers are designed to splice different diameter bars where one bar can be roated and the bar is not restricted in its axial direction.
