Octacosanols are organic compounds with the formula CH3(CH2)26CH2OH. The appearance is white powder or scaly crystal, tasteless and odorless. Soluble in hot ethanol, ethyl ether, benzene, toluene, chloroform, methylene chloride, petroleum ether and other organic solvents, insoluble in water. In addition, octacosanol is stable to acids, bases, reducing agents, and is stable to light and heat, and is not easy to absorb moisture. 1. Used as a softening lubricant for rubber products, a polishing agent for textiles, a stabilizer for polyvinyl chloride plastics
