Constant-fluron PTFE particle resin G401 is a free-flowing white powder composed of relatively large particles that is ideal for isobaric molding. Its most unique features are improved moldability at lower pressures and improved surface smoothness of finished parts.
PTFE G401 is often used to form thicker sheets, and sometimes for the stamping of rods and pipes with thicker cross sections. Properly processed products made from high purity PTFE G401 have the superior properties typical of fluoroplastic resins
Processing suggestion
Fluoron PTFE is processed in two steps: preforming and sintering. The powder is first pressed into a preformed shape close to the desired molded product and then consolidated at temperatures higher than the melting point of the pure powder crystal using precise heating (sintering) and cooling cycles. The performance of the finished product depends on the bottle failure pressure, sintering time and temperature, and cooling rate.
PTFE is used to make relatively large objects in molds that can be manually filled. Small particles of resin do not flow properly in the automatic feeding system.
