Threaded flanges are joined to pipes by screwing the pipe (which has a male thread, generally NPT per ASME B1.20.1) onto the flange, without seam welds (in certain cases, though, small welds are applied to increase the strength of the connection).

Threaded flanges are available in sizes up to 4 inches and multiple pressure ratings, however, they are used, mostly, small size piping in low pressure and low-temperature applications, like water and air utility services.

Threaded flanges are also a mandatory requirement in explosive areas, such as gas stations and plants, as the execution of welded connections in such environments would be dangerous.

A threaded flange is a type of flange that uses a screw thread to connect the flange to a pipe. A male thread is cut onto a pipe end whilst a female thread is cut into the bore of the flange; the male threaded pipe is then screwed into the female threaded flange. Threaded flanges are available in a variety of sizes and pressure ratings, and are typically made from Various Materials.

Technical Specifications
1. Materials: Carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel,
2. Size: ½ inch to 24 inches
3. Classes: 150, 300, 400, 600, 900, 1500, 2500
4. Thread type: NPT, BSP, BSPT, BSPP
5. Face type: Flat, Raised and Ring Joint
6. Dimensions: ANSI B16.5, ASME B16.47,

Advantages of Threaded Flanges:
A. Easy to install and maintain
B. No welding required

Threaded flanges are designed to use threads to connect flanges to piping. Threaded flanges are used to connect pipes together in a safe, leak-free manner. They are often used in industrial pipelines where the flow of fluids or gases needs to be carefully controlled. Threaded flanges are designed to screw onto the end of a pipe, creating a tight seal that prevents leaks and ensures that the pipe operates at maximum efficiency. In addition to being used to connect pipes together, threaded flanges can also be used to connect other piping components such as valves, pumps and fittings. This makes them a versatile component that can be used in a variety of different piping configurations.

Threaded flanges are typically made from materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel or alloy steel. The material used will depend on the specific requirements of the pipeline and its operating environment.

The main advantage of threaded flanges is that they do not require welding to connect to the pipe. The ability to form joints without welding is a considerable advantage and is critical in certain locations and industries such as gas stations, hexane plants, flammable liquid stores, and other explosive areas (Ex zones). If welding is not required, the potential source of ignition has been removed. Another advantage is that threaded flange fittings are faster and easier to assemble and disassemble than welded flange fittings.

Threaded flanges are not suitable for pipes with thin wall thicknesses, as it is more difficult to cut threads on such pipes. In some cases, sealing welds can be used to improve the integrity of the flange and reduce the potential for leakage. Adding a seal weld increases the integrity of the flange, but it also makes the joint more difficult to assemble and disassemble (because the weld makes it a permanent joint).

Threaded pipe flanges are similar to threaded pipe flanges except that the threaded pipe flange bore has tapered threads. Threaded pipe flanges are used with pipes that have external threads. This type of connection is fast and simple but not suitable for high pressure and temperature applications. Threaded flanges are mainly used in utilities such as air and water. Its main merit is that it can be assembled without welding, explaining its use in low pressure services at ordinary atmospheric temperatures, and in highly explosive areas where welding creates a hazard.

The benefit of these pipe flanges is that it can be attached without welding.

The ASME B16.5 and ASME 16.47 pipe flanges and flange fittings standard covers pressure-temperature ratings, materials, dimensions, tolerances, marking, testing, and methods of designating openings for pipe flanges and flanged fittings.

Threaded Flanges can be used in extremely high pressure services, thus proving impeccable working capacities. Our threaded flanges, threaded pipe flanges and stainless steel threaded flanges can be customized as per the client's requirement.
