Colorless cubic or tetragonal crystals. Sensitive to moisture. Solubility in water (g/ 100mL) : 4 at 15C, 4.3 at 25C, 5 at 100C, insoluble in ethanol. Partial hydrolysis of aqueous solution shows an alkaline reaction. The newly prepared saturated solution has a pH of 7.4. Its aqueous solution can make the glass hairy, but its dry crystals or powders can be stored in glass bottles
Application and Uses :
It is used as insecticide in agriculture, timber preservative, slagging medium of metallurgy, analyzing reagent.
It is also used in welding flux of machine planer tool, sterilization of fermentation equipment, and used to manufacture fluorin e compounds.
