PTO shafts on the tractor PTO shafts are designed to transfer the engine's energy to attachments and transform it into the engine's rotation into hydraulic.

What is the size of the PTO shafts? PTO Shaft for PEECON Vertical Feed Mixers
When buying a new tool that comes with a PTO shaft or choosing to replace one that is old or replacing an old one, the majority of PTO shafts require to be cut to the length of both the tractor as well as the machine which is using it. This is an easy procedure we've outlined in the next steps.

1000mm - 800mm plus 75mm = 275mm. The latter is required to get removed from PTO shaft.
The easiest way for cutting to cut the PTO shaft into the right size is to split it in half, so there are both internal and external parts. There is no need to take off the cover made of plastic. In the example above the cover needs to be removed 275mm from the length which means we have to cut 295mm and 275mm steel pipes onto both the PTO shaft cover and the inner and outer components and the outer and inner parts, respectively. Begin by measuring the desired amount on the plastic cover, and mark it with the required text. Cut off any excess. Measure the amount you need out of steel pipe, and cut it using an angle grinder or hacksaw. Repeat the process for the second half of the PTO shaft.
It is important to make sure that any burrs found on the cut side of the PTO shaft are removed, so that the PTO can slide in the correct direction. Also, we recommend applying grease on each side of the PTO prior to reassembling. After rebuilding your PTO shaft, it is possible to attach it to your tractor, and then implement it.
