Tulsi well known as Queen of Herbs in Ayurveda and is scientifically known as Ocimum tenuiflorum. It belongs to the family Lamiaceae.

Tulsi is also known as Holy basil, Tulasi. It is an annual perennial plant native to the India sub-continent and widespread as a cultivated plant throughout Southeast Asia. In Hinduism Tulsi is worshipped as a god.

The main chemical constituents present in Tulsi are Oleanolic acid, Ursolic acid, Rosmarinic acid, Eugenol, Carvacrol, Linalool, and caryophyllene.
