Plano Concave Lens
A plano-concave lens is an optical lens with one concave and one flat surface. It has a negative focal length and can be used for light projection, beam expansion or to increase the focal length of an optical system.
Plano concave lens bend parallel input rays so they diverge from one another on the output side of the lens and hence have a negative focal length. The spherical aberration of the plano concave lenses is negative and can be used to balance aberrations created by other lenses. Similar to the plano concave lens, the curvature surface usually faces the largest object distance or the infinite conjugate to minimize spherical aberration.
Applications
1. Plano-concave lenses are commonly used to divert parallel beams in instruments such as Galilean beam expanders or telescopes.
2. Plano-concave lenses are also used for beam expansion of high peak power pulsed lasers. The incident beam will be focused on a concave surface to a point outside the instrument.
Optical Cylindrical lens
PARAMETER:
A plano concave cylindrical lens is used to expand light in on axis. A negative cylindrical lens is able to diverge collimated input light away from a line. Plano-concave cylindrical lenses are used for one-dimensional compression of images, anamorphic beam shaping, and laser line generation.
Specification
A plano-concave cylindrical lens has curvature in the vertical direction, functioning as a concave lens, while having no curvature in the horizontal direction. It is used to magnify a beam in a single direction, such as transforming a laser beam into a line or sheet of light, or altering the height of an image without changing its width. When combined with a concave cylinder lens, it can be used to shape the elliptical beam of a semiconductor laser into a circular one, among other applications.
Features of Plano Concave Cylindrical Lens
The cylindrical concave lens forms a diverging line-shaped virtual image and is primarily used to control the size of a beam in one direction. This lens consists of a flat surface and a concave cylindrical surface, with a negative focal length. Light passing through the axial meridian does not experience a change in convergence, but light passing through the refractive meridian does experience a change in convergence.
Applications of Plano-Concave Cylindrical Lenses
Beam Shaping:
Plano-concave cylindrical lenses are often used to convert collimated laser beams into line beams. By orienting the curved surface of the lens towards the light source, spherical aberration can be minimized, thereby achieving beam shaping.
Image Shaping:
A pair of plano concave lenses can be used for image shaping, particularly when it is necessary to shape a point source in one-dimensional direction.
Laser Scanning Systems:
In laser scanning systems, about plano concave lens are used to adjust the beam shape to meet scanning requirements. They can also be combined with other optical elements to achieve complex beam shaping functions.
Spectral Analysis:
During spectral analysis, plano-concave cylindrical lenses are used to adjust the divergence or convergence angle of the beam to meet different measurement needs.

Plano Convex or Concave Square Cylindrical Cylinder Lens
Cylinder Lenses are offered in both plano-concave and plano-convex configurations, they are typically used to focus incoming light to a line, or to change the aspect ratio of an image. Cylinder Lenses are available with positive or negative focal lengths, they are used for the optics, lasers, medical science, electronics, tele-communication and others.
1. Cylindrical lens with its circumference surface polished.
2. Applicable for laser focusing into a line, changing beam shape into sheet-shape, or irradiating at a distance with elongated line
3. Focal length shortened by reducing the rod lense diameter compared to cylindrical lenses
4. Distortion-free, flexion-free, straight line gainable when projection was made at a distance, by precised process and polishing.
5. Suitable for collecting large sum of light into sensor by putting it right in front of line sensor
