GD type rubber fender is developped over D type fender. They can be fixed with anchors thus provides increased stability. GD type fender has bigger bottom width and steel plate mounting. You can also fix them with bolts. We can see they have improved mounting strength and longer endurance than D type fender.
It also has a higher reaction force and energy absorption than D type fender.

It is typically mounted to dock or vessels like tugs, barges, workboats and pilot boats to reduce the effects of collision between the dock and the vessel during mooring and berthing, therefore preventing vessels and quays from damage.
