Physical Properties:
Under normal usage conditions, dichloromethane is a non-flammable, low-boiling solvent. It serves as an effective replacement for flammable solvents such as petroleum ether and ether, particularly in environments where safety is a concern. However, caution is advised when vapor concentrations become elevated, especially in high-temperature air.

It is one of the low-boiling-Point industrial solvents that have small ltoxicity, no inflammable. It has good solubility for many resin, waxand fat, soluble in water slightly, easy soluble in other chloro solvent, ethoxyethane and ethanol. Dichloromethane can take place hydrolysis with water in a certain temperature. The commercial dichloromethane often contains stabilizer in order to prevent decomposition.
Usage:
Dichloromethane has strong solubility and no toxicity, ect advantages. It is widely used for manufacturing safety film and orthocarbonate and can also be used for solvent of paint, cleaner for metal, gas-fog spray agents, polyurethane foaming agent, mold-release agent, paint remover. Dichloromethane is also used in the manufacture of photographic film and has been used to remove caffeine from coffee.
