5. Performance: green-white crystalline powder or crystal. Slightly smelly, slightly sweet metallic taste. This product becomes yellow-brown containing ferric salt when wet or its aqueous solution is oxidized. Light can promote oxidation. Iron ions react with other food additives and are easy to color. Dissolved in water, it forms a green transparent liquid, which is acidic. Almost insoluble in ethanol.

6. Uses: nutritional supplements (iron fortifiers); iron for fortifying milk powder; for wheat flour, cakes

Character:It is colorless column crystal, odorless, slightly deliquescence. The relative density is 2.04 and melting point is 60??. It is easily soluble in water but insoluble in ethanol. If heated below 100??, it can dissolve in crystal water and convert to monohydrate salt. When heated to 100??, it will lose crystal water and change to anhydrous substances, which will become sodium metaphosphate if continue to be heated.
