Sodium ethylxanthate is a yellow to brown powder that is soluble in water and ethanol. It has the characteristics of thickening and stabilizing lotion and gel.
The preparation method of sodium ethylxanthate is generally through chemical synthesis. Reacting xanthan acid with sodium hydroxide to produce the intermediate of sodium xanthate. Then, through esterification reaction, ethanol is reacted with the intermediate of sodium xanthate to obtain ethyl sodium xanthate.
It should not come into contact with the skin, eyes, and mucous membranes to prevent irritation and damage. When using, gloves and protective goggles should be worn, and good ventilation in the work area should be ensured.

Application:
