Star Anise is considered a dry spice with high applicability in various Vietnamese dishes, especially pho. It is also a familiar spice in the
meals of Indians, Singaporeans, Bangladeshis and Middle Eastern countries.
Anise is commonly grown in the Northeastern provinces of Vietnam. This is a spice plant with a height of about 6-10m. Its stems
are generally straight, smooth and gray-brown. The part used to make spices for export is dried star anise.
Fresh star anise is naturally dried (maximum moisture 13.5%) with sticky petals sized from 2.5 - > 3cm (accounting for) 80% of
the petals have no flat seeds.
High essential oil ratio.
