Calcium oxide is also an inorganic dehydrating agent. It reacts with water to produce calcium hydroxide and can also absorb carbon dioxide. Calcium oxide can be used as an analytical reagent, a carbon dioxide absorbent in gas analysis, a spectral analysis reagent, and a high-purity reagent for epitaxy and diffusion processes in semiconductor production, laboratory ammonia drying and alcohol dehydration, etc. Application Quicklime is generally calcined from limestone. Quicklime has long been used to make desiccants due to its excellent water absorption properties. The main component of quicklime desiccant is calcium oxide. The drying principle is that calcium oxide absorbs water to generate calcium hydroxide. It is widely used in various industries such as food and clothing due to its low cost and high cost performance.
