Nutmeg and mace are the dried products of the same tree myristica fragrance, houtt. Nutmug is the mature dried seed and mace is the dried aril, a net like out growth from the base of the seed. Srilanka nutmeg is exported in both shelled and unshelled forms. Nutmeg whole/unshelled in brown nut colour as mace in two colours of red/yellow.
