Cashew nut shell liquid CNSL is a by-product of the cashew industry. The shell of the nut contains a dark reddish brown viscous liquid. It is called the Cashew nut shell liquid or Cashew nut shell oil, Cashew shell oil, Cashew shell liquid, CNSL, Cashew nut oil.
Cashew Nut Shell Liquid by VAVIMEX is pure and natural product, with no artificial element added. It is a by-product of the cashew industry The oil is extracted from the cashew nut shell, which is a pericarp fluid of the cashew nut shell. CNSL is a mixture of four components: all are substituted phenols - anacardic acid (I), cardanol (II), cardol(III) and 2-methyl cardol(IV). I and II are monohydric phenols whereas III and IV are dihydric phenols. In the nut, CNSL occurs mainly as an anacardic acid (~90%) and cardol around slightly lower than 10%. Cashew Nut Shell Liquid is used in PF resin and cashew friction dust (CFD) for automobile brakelinings, synthetic rubber & wax compounding.

Which is the pericap fluid of the Cashew Nut. It is often considered as the better and cheaper material for unsaturated phenols.
