Kerala Matta rice(Semi Polished, Parboiled) is from Palakkad district from a PGS organic certified, farm. Red, medium size roundish grains, double boiled , semi-polished, with 40-50 % bran. This rice is aged, traditionally double boiled in farm and is known for its taste and cooking quality. Pre-soak for 2 hours, pressure cook with 1: 3 water 4 whistles on high & 2 whistles on low fire.
Matta rice or Palakkadan matta is mainly cultivated in the district of Palakkad. Matta rice is known for its richness in nutrition. It is also used in making snacks like murukku, kondattam.
