Product Description:
o-Cresolphthalein Complexone is complexometric reagent derived from o-Cresolphthalein. It shows violet-red color in alkaline media and is a principle compound for the determination of hardness of water. Also used as Calcium Assay Kit as direct colorimetric assay based on the O-Cresolphtalein (OCPC) method without deproteinization of the sample. The calcium determination is based on the reaction of calcium with O-Cresolphthalein complexone in alkaline solution, which yields a violet colored complex. The intensity of the color formed is proportional to the calcium concentration in the sample. Absorbance of the Ca2+-O-Cresolphtalein complex is measured at 570nm. Wavelength range of sensitivity: 560 ~ 590nm.

Product Description:
2,6-dichlorophenolindophenol ( DCPIP ) is a blue chemical compound used as a redox dye. In Oxidized form DCPIP is blue;whereas in reduced form DCPIP is colorless. The rate of photosynthesis can be measured by the rate at which this dye changes color (is reduced) when exposed to light in a photosynthetic system. This reaction is reversible, as colorless DCPIP can be reoxidized to blue. Blue redox indicator dye used for the determination of Vitamin C (ascorbic acid), which when Vitamin C is present reduces to a colorless hydroxy compound. May be used as an electron acceptor and to stain glutathione reductase electrophoresis gels. Also known as Tillman's reagent.
