Description: A Grayish violet brittle plates or small crystals, prilled with a Metallic sheen, dour irritant. It volatile slowly at room temperature.
Solubility: Very slight soluble in water, Very soluble in concentrated solution of iodides, Soluble in ethanol (96%).Slightly soluble in Glycerol.
Identification Test:
Test A: - When heated gently it gives violet vapors which condense forming a bluish-black crystalline sublimate.
Test B:- A saturated solution yield a blue colour in the presence of starch solution which disappears when the solution is heated & reappears when itâ??s cool
Bromide & Chlorides Not More Than 250 ppm.
Sulphate No opalescent is produced.
Non Volatile Matter. Not More Than 0.1 %.
Heavy Metals Not More Than 10 ppm
Chlorides Not More Than 10 ppm
Assay Not less than 99.5%
